So I was I’m done with school and I just wanted to teach because uh teaching has always been something that I’ve always been interested in.But I had a year off and I fell in love with acting and one thing led to another and here I am. ★ be born in 어디에서 태어나쁘지않아다.★ live in 어디에서 살다★ for a coupe years 몇년정도 = for a couple of years★ a couple of, several, a few 이런 몇개 정도라는 수량형용사 아시면 좋을 것 같네요!★ grew up(grow up) in 어디서 자라다★ be done with 와 끝나쁘지않아다 (비유적으로 질색이다) ★ 무엇이(이곳선 teaching) has always been something that I’ve always been interested in. 내가 항상 관심있는 것이다.-여러분의 관심사를 이렇게 영어로 이기홍처럼 길~게 말해보세요!I tell the story all the time and he probably hates it but I saw Aaron you in Disturbia when I was in college and I I remember seeing it and saying hey if that guy can do it maybe I can do it too and so it’s because of that, that kind of propelled me and kind of motivated me to pursue it. ★ tell 무엇 all the time 항상 이거 말하는데★ probably hate 아마 싫어할거야!★ propell sb, motivate sb ~하게 하다, 나쁘지않아아상점 하다, 동기부여를 하다 (to V 하도록)★ pursue 추구하다And I I think Aaron every time I see him I thanked him last night but he probably hates it but I have to do it because he’s kind of been my inspiration throughout this whole thing. You know I’ve I’m really lucky to have very supportive parents. I mean they really supported me from day one.I remember getting a birthday card from my parents when I first started acting and they wrote it in Korean, they said something like um you know success doesn’t come overnight, just be patient and work hard and whatever comes will come and I still have it just because it meant so much to me that I was kind of pursuing my journey literally on my own and I had no idea what I was doing.★ have been my inspiration 나쁘지않아의 영감이었다!★ throughout 내내!★ throughout this whole thing 이 모든 것 내내, 동안예시 : throughout Korea 대힌민국 전체에We’re scattered throughout the galaxy. We stayed best friends throughout high school. They allow us to travel throughout the multiverse.A dangerous virus has been spread throughout this building.Throughout Europe, daily demonstrations demand unilateral nuclear disarmament. I have to do this role there’s no other role out there for for me and I was just very very fortunate and lucky to land that role. And I tried my best to kind of bring the alpha male dominant strong kind of characteristics to that role and just I’m just very lucky because the the author of the book, James Dashner. He has a niece whose husband is Korean and his name is Minho. So that’s why he put that character in the book and so thank you to that guy and that’s why we need Asians everywhere because you never know like when an author’s going to get inspiration from a regular dude that marries his niece. You know that’s literally how this role came about and so I think that guy every day when I wake up and I’m just really blessed to be a part of that and to to kind of showcase that Asian actors can be masculine and and can run really fast and can be strong you know.★ be involved with 에 관여하게 되다★ start off as 로 개시 하다★ luckily 운좋게도★ several times 몇번수량형용사 써서 times 하면 대등한 의미 됍니다.a lot of times 많이, 여러번a couple of timesa few times5 times bajillion times 아주 많이!등등!위의 수량 형용사를 좀더 정리하겠음니다.수량형용사_셀수있는many 많은 a few 좀few 거의 없는a couple of 두세개one of 복수명사 : ~들중 일쁘지않아dozens of 수십개의thousands of 수천의hundreds of thousands of 수십만의수량형용사_셀수없는a little bit of 약간의little 거의없는much 많은수량형용사_셀수 잇는 없는 둘다 되는a lot of 많은lots of 많은a ton of ㅈㄴ 많은enough 충분한plenty of 많은수량형용사_예시를 보겠음니다.I had a ton of fun.ㅈㄴ 재밌엇어.A ton of people were there in Gangnam. 강남에 사람 ㅈㄴ 많아.One of my friends is 어메리카n. 내친구들중 한명은 미국인이야!One of my favorites is watch Netflix. 내 최아이중 일쁘지않아는 넷플릭스 보는거야.I have lots of money. 돈 많아유.I have few female friends. 여사친 거의 없어유.★ eventually 결말★ for the first time 처소음으로★ land 얻다★ try one’s best to V 하려고 최선의 노력을 다하다★ come about 생기다 ★ that’s how 그게 어떻게 ~한 거다How much farther do we have to go to be accepted in this industry. I feel like we’ve already been accepted. It’s just now we’re in and now we have to push as hard as we can to have an Asian lead actor or actress in the movie, headline a movie or headline a show and I’m doing my best to push myself as an actor and push myself as an Asian-어메리카n actor to to get myself out there and represent the community in a positive way. But also as an artist you can’t only do things that are good for your community you have to do things for the sake of the art too and so that’s kind of a fine line I have to walk as an Asian 어메리카n actor ★ push as hard as we can 우리가 할수 있는 만큼 제일크게 푸쉬 해야 합니다★ lead actor 주연배우★ do one’s best 최선을 다하다★ walk a fine line 곡예를 하다, 줄타기를 하다[04:08]So my name I’m Ki Hong Lee and obviously that’s a very that’s a very Korean name.I definitely thought about changing it. I think Uzo aduba had an interview with Seth Meyers one time and I think she said it best. She actually tells the story about how she goes to her mom and says “Mom can’t change my name because no one like can pronounce my name correctly.” And she goes “Well if they can learn how to say Dostoevsky and Tchaikovsky and all those names. They can learn how to say your name.” And that that like resonated with me and I was like that’s right man you can’t you don’t have to change your name for anybody. You know you can just be yourself and make them learn your name. You know if you’re if you’re good enough if you’re talented enough and you’ve been around for a while. They will learn her name. You think Yasiel Puig is easy to pronounce but people learn his name because he’s so good and he’s so popular right and like I think that if anything I try to use it as motivation to work harder.I mean it’s changing obviously and changing very slowly and the only way to change it faster or to kind of launch a new wave of how people see Asians is to create our own content, to create our own stories and make opportunities for ourselves as actors and as entertainers. I think honestly that’s the only way and it’s hard. It’s not easy but don’t give up and just keep trying.I think that’s the only way to change anything is to just take it and change it yourself.★ definitely 물론, 당연히★ thought about ving ~하는걸 견해해봤다★ she goes (like) ~라고 말하다이기홍 인터뷰에서 배울 영어표현 !★resonates / resonate with someone 울림이 있다, 반향이 있다, 와닿다.: To evoke a feeling of shared emotion or belief with someone: “His book mostly resonated with young adults.”Fig. [for an idea, issue, or concept] to appeal to someone or cause someone to relate to it. “The concept of wearing worn-looking clothing seems to resonate with young people.”“ Your notion just doesn’t resonate with the public in general.”*something resonates with me *Something resonates with me = like you feel some 감동- For that situation we say ‘stuck in head ‘ like you can’t stop thinking about it.-예를들어- Ah did you hear that song yesterday ?-Yeah!
